Funding Opportunities

At Ngee Ann Academy, we believe in recognising academic excellence and leadership potential. The Ngee Ann Kongsi and Ngee Ann Academy offers Scholarships and Study Awards to individuals who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents. There are also a range of other scholarships and study awards by external organisation available in the list below.

Ngee Ann Education Holdings (NAEH) Scholarship

For the Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours (Top-Up) programme only.

Eligibility criteria
NAEH Scholarship is awarded to individuals who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents.
  • Open to Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents only.
  • Outstanding academic results:
    • Polytechnic Diploma with a Grade Point Average of ≥ 3.6.
  • Good conduct with academic and/or professional supervisors' reference/testimonial.
  • Must not be a recipient of other scholarship / sponsorship or study award.
Terms & Conditions
  • The quantum of the Scholarship is up to $14,000 of the total programme fees.
  • The Scholarship holder is required to achieve ≥ 50% in every module/course for the scholarship award to be maintained, and obtain the degree qualification within the minimum period required of the course of study.
  • The Scholarship holder must be a good role model and serve as an ambassador to promote NAA programme outreach during the period of study and for two years after completion of the degree.

Ngee Ann Education Holdings (NAEH) Study Award

For the Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours (Top-Up) programme only.

Eligibility criteria
The NAEH Study Award provides financial assistance to students studying at Ngee Ann Academy. It is a monetary award based on financial need. In addition, students should have satisfactory academic results.
  • Open to Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents only.
  • Academic results:
    • Polytechnic Diploma with a Grade Point Average of ≥ 3.2.
  • Good conduct with academic and/or professional supervisors' reference/testimonial.
  • Must not be a recipient of other scholarship / sponsorship or study award.
Terms & Conditions
  • The Study Award quantum is up to S$7,000 and is offered based on the assessed level of neediness of the applicant.
  • Ceiling for per capita income: ≤ S$1,000 (e.g. Total gross household income = $4,000, Total number of household members = 4, PCI = $4,000 / 4 = $1,000).
  • The Study Award holder is required to pass every module for the Study Award award to be maintained, and obtain the degree qualification within the minimum period required of the course of study.
  • The Study Award holder must be a good role model and serve as an ambassador to promote NAA programme outreach during the period of study.

Ngee Ann Academy (NAA) Merit Scholarship

For the Bachelor of Science Management, Bachelor of Science International Management (Japan & Korea) and Bachelor of Arts International Management and South East Asian Studies programmes only.

Eligibility criteria
NAA Merit Scholarship is awarded to individuals who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents.
  • Open to Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents only.
  • Outstanding academic results:
    • 3 approved GCE A level subjects grades of at least ABB; or
    • International Baccalaureate of 36 points overall; or
    • Polytechnic Diploma with a Grade Point Average of ≥ 3.4.
  • Good conduct with academic and/or professional supervisors' reference/testimonial.
  • Must not be a recipient of other scholarship / sponsorship or study award.
Terms & Conditions
  • The quantum of the Scholarship varies according to the number of credits the student will have to complete during the course of studies.
  • The Scholarship holder is required to achieve ≥ 50% in every module/course for the scholarship award to be maintained, and obtain the degree qualification within the minimum period required of the course of study.
  • The Scholarship holder must be a good role model and serve as an ambassador to promote NAA programme outreach during the period of study and for two years after completion of the degree.

Community Care Manpower Development Award (CCMDA)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours students are able to apply for the CCMDA which is administered by the Agency for Integrated Care.

Value:
CCMDA will fund up to 90% of the course fees and other relevant expenditure. The remaining 10% will be co-funded by the hiring organisation.

Eligibility criteria:
  • Be Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Be supported by your hiring organisation
  • Have a good performance grade in your annual performance
  • Not have completed your study programme at the point of application

Terms & Conditions: Successful applicants will need to serve a bond with the sponsoring organization.

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Value: Capped at $250 per year

Eligibility criteria: All NTUC members can apply.

Terms & Conditions
  • Paid-up union membership before course commencement, throughout whole course duration and at the point of claim
  • Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP, and training must commence within the supported period
  • Course must not be funded through company sponsorship or other types of funding
  • Unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above
  • Member must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any
  • UTAP application must be submitted within 6 months after course completion

Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud (LBKM) Scholarship

Value: $5,000 to $10,000

Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud (LBKM) Bursary

Value: $1,200

Eligibility criteria
  • Singapore citizen, or either parent is a Singapore citizen (below 21 years old)
  • Pass previous year’s / semester’s examinations. [For 1st year students, please provide A levels / Diploma transcript / Degree transcript.]
  • Applicants must NOT be concurrently holding any other institution-administered or organisation bursaries / scholarships
  • Family Per-Capita-Income (PCI) should not exceed $1,800 (Singapore / Malaysia / Indonesia / Brunei) or $2,250 (Overseas)

SkillsFuture Study Award for Healthcare

Singaporeans with at least two years of work experience in the Healthcare industry may apply for SkillsFuture Study Award for Healthcare. The SkillsFuture Study Award for Healthcare Sector provides support for experienced healthcare workers to deepen their skills and knowledge in the area of aged care, healthcare IT and data analytics, and healthcare system design, organisation and delivery.

Value: Successful applicant will receive a monetary award of S$5,000, which they can use to defray expenses associated with the programme.

Eligibility criteria:
  • Singaporeans with at least two years of work experience in the Healthcare industry
  • Demonstrate commitment to deepening skills in the Healthcare industry
  • Track record of contributing to learning and training of self and/or others
  • Nomination by current employer or testimonial from a referee
  • Meet the entry requirements for the selected course of study
  • Have not completed the course at the point of application
  • Not a previous recipient of any SkillsFuture Study Award
  • Not a current recipient of government-funded scholarships and sponsorships or serving out their bond
  • Not pending any police investigations or bankruptcy proceedings
