What is Summer/Winter Programme?

Each year, the University of Adelaide offers a range of intensive courses that are taught during the term breaks as part of its Summer & Winter School Programme. Students are encouraged to enrol for the Summer & Winter School to accelerate their study in an exceptional learning atmosphere surrounded by grand old buildings and historical environments.

Courses are taught in intensive mode – normally over a period of 2 – 3 weeks and are available across faculties.

Courses are held onshore at the University of Adelaide, North Terrace Campus, Australia.

When is it?

The Summer Programme normally takes place in January / February, while the Winter Programme is held in July each year.

Course information will be available in December for Summer school and June for Winter school. For more information on the courses offered at the Summer/Winter programme, please click here.

Accommodation

A. There are University accommodation options that students may wish to consider, namely:

  • The University of Adelaide Village
  • Urbanest

The accommodation details are available here.

B. Serviced Apartments & Hotels

Fully-serviced apartments are suitable for short term stays. They usually provide all furniture, bedding, linen, cooking appliances and utensils and laundry facilities. Most apartments offer cheaper rates for longer duration, e.g. there will be one rate per night if you are staying for one week and another rate if you are staying for two weeks.

Many apartments are serviced, meaning they are cleaned and linen is changed regularly like in a hotel, but most offer unserviced options and will be unserviced for stays of three months or more.

Hotels, although a more expensive option, within close proximity to the North Terrace campus is readily available.

Course Fees

Course fees are subsidised at the NAA rate, NOT subjected to additional taxes.

For course fees, please refer to your respective degree programme fees. GST is not applicable for Summer/Winter courses.

Students will have to ensure that the course fees are paid prior to the trip. In addition to the course fees, students will have to bear the cost of the travel visa, accommodation and air tickets.

Visa Arrangements

Students will have to ensure that they apply for a visa for entry into Australia. Due to the short duration, a visitor / tourist visa is sufficient. This visa allows one to stay in Australia for up to 3 months. Please ensure that the visa application is arranged ahead of time. Please refer to the Australia Immigration website for more information: http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/visa-options.htm.
